Greg White started competitive cycling during his teens and became qualified as an Olympic level coach while studying Bachelor of Human Movement & Sports Science at University in Victoria. Shortly after leaving Uni his love of road and track cycling expanded to include Mountain biking while living in Vancouver, Canada.
He threw himself both figuratively and literally into the famous ‘North Shore’ Mountain biking scene, and quickly became addicted to riding the high, skinny, man-made structures and at times near vertical rock and root strewn technical terrain that the North Shore is world famous for.
After 2 years in Vancouver he was employed by a UK company to Guide in Europe, and in the following few years worked seasonally in Europe as a cycling guide/mechanic in France, Italy & Switzerland, and managing bike stores in the off season back in Australia, and regularly revisiting America and Canada for riding trips while traveling to and from Europe.
It was in 2006 after Greg was invited and flown to Sydney to participate in the inaugural AustCycle Instructor trainer course, run by Cycling Australia under the National Cycling Accreditation Scheme (NCAS) that he decided to settle in Brisbane permanently to start Learnmtb.com.
During this time he was also contracted as a cycling coach, bike fitter and mechanic at Activ Cycle Coaching, an indoor wattage based training and testing centre in Brisbane.
